THE dynamic duo of comedy legend Barry Cryer, of Sorry I Haven’t A Clue fame and former Fabulous Poodle Ronnie Golden, promise a riotous, rip-roaring night of comedy and song in their forthcoming show at the Plaza, Going Gaga.
Forget a combined age of 142, they deliver this with nary a safety net nor zimmer frame in sight on May 15!
And this is just one of a string of headline one-night-only shows at this art deco venue in Romsey over the spring and summer.
Claire Martin OBE of Radio 3 brings her new musical venture to town on May 9. Claire has a wealth of experience as a jazz vocalist, and couples that with the Brighton based Montpellier Cello Quartet, allowing her to combine her love of the Great American Songbook and popular classics with brand new arrangements especially commissioned for this project by internationally renowned composers including Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Mark Anthony Turnage and Django Bates.
And if the Great American Songbook is your thing – then you need look no further than local cabaret duo Stranger Than Fiction on May 23.
The Plaza will also present the only full time professional children’s storyteller in the UK – John Harris – for three one hour shows, each aimed at a different age range on May 24; as well as two visits (in July and September) by the internationally acclaimed Lempen Puppet.
