OPEN Space at The Point in Eastleigh has seen aerial artists, bold contemporary dance and theatre puppetry since its debut in January as it continues on into the summer season with an array of exciting companies visiting the venue's Creation Space.
The Creation Space, built in 2009, welcomes artists and companies into the light-filled hub throughout the year for creative residencies, where emerging and established groups will try new ideas, explore creativity and, now, share progress with members of the public.
Artists and companies sharing as part of Open Space include Associate Artists, solo practitioners and joint residencies.
The summer season got under way with Gameshow on Friday and continues with Verity Standen and Dan Canham on April 22, Frozen Light Theatre on May 6, Yvon Bonenfant and May 13, Tangere Arts on May 27, Neil Callaghan on June 17, Silvia Mercuriali on July 1, Luke Brown and SharkLegs on July 8 and DumbWise on July 29.
Each residency will take place at 4pm in the Creation Space, allowing members of the public a behind-the-scenes look at works in progress.
