SOUTHAMPTON is set to have its very own comedy festival this summer.
The event, in June, will include a week of preview shows from some of the most exciting comedy acts on the circuit.
Opening the week, on Monday, June 15, The Comedy Bar and Jest Nation present Trevor Lock, star of Channel 4’s Star Stories and the Russell Brand Radio Show at Hamptons. Plus star of Al Murray’s Personality Disorder and BBC3’s Comedy Shuffle, Simon Brodkin.
That’s followed by Edinburgh previews from Perrier Award nominee John Gordillo and Dan Atkinson at the Soul Cellar the following night.
On Wednesday, it’s back to The Hamptons for the turn of IF.Comedy Award nominees Paul Sinha and Zoe Lyons.
BBC Radio 1’s 5:19 show’s Tom Deacon and improv group The Noise Next Door are at The Soul Cellar on Wednesday, June 17.
Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton is the venue on Friday for IF.Comedy award nominee and star of BBC’s Live at The Apollo Russell Kane and Grown Ups, Friday Night Project and Edinburgh and Beyond star Rob Rouse with MC Chris Mayo.
Rhod Gilbert and Elis James take to the stage at Hamptons on Saturday, while Sunday sees the festival finale.
Enjoy previews from Mock The Week star Ian Stone and cult comedy legend, star of This Morning with Richard Not Judy and First of Fun Richard Herring at The Nuffield.
