I WILL be among the millions tuning in to see this year’s Apprentice crowned this weekend.
It’s good to see two strong women in the final in the form of my pick Kate Walsh, a very smiley licensing development manager based in Alresford, and rather scary restaurateur Yasmina Siadatan.
There’s been some ridiculous business antics in this year’s series, the Pants Man concept to name just one flawed idea, but my favourite reality TV show is also the only one where I can take the candidates seriously – sometimes at least.
I adore Sir Alan’s amusing sidekicks Margaret Mountford and Nick Hewer, but five series in, there is one person who has impressed me above all others.
The more I watch of the show, the more I think Sugar is the kind of person I would like to have running my business – or perhaps my country.
Here we are in deepest chaos with hordes of our MPs being investigated over their dodgy dealings on the expenses forms and we’ve not even considered some of our most successful men and women as suitable replacements.
It’s high time self-made entrepreneurs with a genuine common touch who wouldn’t know what to do with any more cash they might earn in business stepped up to the mark in the world of politics.
I hear there might be a vacancy for Prime Minister soon. Alan Sugar, come on down…
