I ADMIT it. I can be a bit of a Christmas Scrooge at times.

The festive season is fantastic fun when it finally arrives, but it’s the endless stressful build up to it I can’t stand.

It makes me grouchy, so I’ve even surprised myself by prematurely embracing it all this year.

I blame Aled Jones.

I’ve been humming that Irving Berlin classic for days since watching the magical White Christmas on its rather early run at The Mayflower.

But, even considering that, I’ve reached a new low – looking forward to Christmas TV.

It’s no ordinary schedule in 2011 though.

Following the death of Sir Jimmy Savile earlier this month, the BBC are screening a one-off special edition of that TV classic Jim’ll Fix It complete with the original title music.

The show, in which the flamboyant star made young viewers’ dreams come true, will see Shane Richie step in as host.

In my youth, I wrote a very hopeful letter asking if Jim could fix it for me to swim in a giant pool of Coca Cola.

Those who know me will know I’d probably still rather enjoy that, perhaps replacing the Coke for a rather good New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to spice it up a bit.

Now then, now then, that would provide plenty of Christmas cheer.
