WHAT will happen as two sets of parents meet to discuss their children’s bad behaviour? Watch a rational conversation descend into a hysterical argument in God of Carnage, which opens at The Nuffield next week.
The theatre welcomes back Matthew Kelly to head the cast in this West End and Broadway hit.
The Olivier Award winning actor, who has turned his hand to everything from Waiting for Godot with Sir Ian McKellen to presenting TV’s Stars In Their Eyes, is joined by Tracey Childs, well-known to TV audiences in Hampshire and worldwide for her appearance in Howard’s Way.
Joining them onstage will be fellow stars of stage and screen, James Clyde and Miranda Foster.
James recently finished filming Leonardo in South Africa. His television credits range from New Tricks to The Bill, where you could also have seen co-star, Miranda.
She has also appeared as Gertrude in Hamlet at Shakespeare’s Globe, following her roles in Romeo and Juliet and God Of Soho (as ‘Mrs God’).
Playwright Yasmina Reza had previous success internationally with her play Art, and God of Carnage has also played from Broadway to Ljubliana, and from Paris to Puerto Rico, collecting an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in London, and Best Play at the Tonys in New York.
For director Patrick Sandford, this is the first of three productions he will direct in his final season as Nuffield Theatre artistic director.
u God of Carnage runs from Thursday to February 23 with a meet the cast event after the show on Thursday, February 14.
