EARLY Monty Python episodes included a recurring feature called “It’s the Bishop!”, so it was in this most entertaining of variety shows, with Ryan Bishop oozing youthful confidence as he delivered two faultless solos as well as joining the ensemble numbers.
Not to be outdone, Sarah Bishop was equally impressive, herUn-Coupled solo being stand-out.
In a mostly mature company, teenager Millie Taylor (one of the lively Young Generation group) was the star of the night. Her solo Popular from Wicked was of real quality that belied her tender years. One to watch, certainly.
Compere John Pitman was great fun between acts and quality humour came from Chris Williams.
Nicky Williams contributed a hilarious Victoria Wood number with Kevin, one of several talented Warnes involved.
Pianist Richard Daniels deserved is centre-stage and costumes, make-up, lighting and sound were all impressive.
