THE autumn season at Basingstoke’s Haymarket Theatre is now on sale and kicks off at the end of the school summer holidays with Room on the Broom from August 30 to September 1.

Adapted for the stage from the best-selling book by Children’s Laureate Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, the show is a magical, musical delight for children aged three and up.

Adults will enjoy the edge-of-your-seat thriller by Emlyn Williams A Murder Has Been Arranged from September 25 to 28.

Sir Charles Jasper is due to inherit £2m on his birthday and plans to celebrate with a party on the stage of the St James’ Theatre.

This theatre is supposedly haunted because of several mysterious deaths. If Sir Charles should die before the clock strikes 11, his nephew Maurice will inherit the fortune.

Returning from October 16-19, the Original Theatre Company bring audiences two short and bitter-sweet comedies by Peter Shaffer, The Private Ear and The Public Eye, giving a fascinating window into the turbulent changing attitudes to love in the 1960s through a brilliant combination of comedy, pathos and drama.

Aliens Love Underpants runs from October 31-November 2. This zany and hilarious tale is delightfully brought to life on stage for the very first time with stunning effects, madcap action, original music and lots of aliens!

Time and Time Again, by Alan Ayckbourn, comes to Basingstoke from November 6-9. Mistaken identity, Battenburg cake and a fishing gnome combine to amuse audiences.
