IT’S the final countdown.
After the success of their variety show last year, Wessex Heartbeat are putting on a song and dance spectacular as a last push towards completing their Daily Echo-backed £500,000 High 5 Appeal, which aims to bring a new cardiac ward for young heart patients to Southampton General Hospital.
Dancing with Choirs will showcase some of the best local dance groups and choirs in a very special one-off show at The Mayflower theatre.
Around 500 performers are warming up their vocal chords and polishing up their dance moves for the show, which takes place on Sunday, May 18.
Singing their hearts out will be Romsey Male Voice Choir, Spinnaker Chorus, E-Minor Pop Academy, Hampshire Collegiate Prep School, and Mayflower Musical Youth Theatre.
Throwing some shapes are Sue Merrett School of Dance, Parkewood Academy of Dance, StudioSo, Dance 8, The Point Adult Tape, Tori Caine School of Dancing and A&L Dance Academy.
Organisers are hoping to attract a near capacity audience of more than 2,000.
Tickets are on sale now from mayflower.org.uk or by calling 023 8071 1811.
