AUDIENCES can take a step back in time to the golden age of jazz with a show at Christchurch’s Regent Centre.

Visitors to the High Street venue will be transported back to 1920s New York City and through the doors of Harlem’s hottest jazz club The Cotton Club.

Performances by legends Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway and Fats Waller would have had the club swinging, while dancers such as Bojangles Robinson and the Nicholas Brothers lit-up the stage with their breath-taking routines.

In Swinging at the Cotton Club the atmosphere of the Cotton Club is recreated by the Jiving Lindy Hoppers dance company and The Harry Strutters Hot Rhythm Orchestra.
