A MAGICAL journey for children and adults bringing together dancers, circus performers and visual artists comes to Lighthouse, Poole this week in Dare to Sea tomorrow and Wednesday.
A Franco-British collaboration, Lighthouse commissioned Peut-Etre Theatre from the UK and France’s La Manoeuvre to create the piece, which features an underwater world conjured through hand-made animated projections.
Waves are created through an original score and objects such as juggling clubs become fish darting through the water.
On a beach at sunset, a fisherman and a woman are bewitched by a siren and dive headlong into the folds of the waves. They discover a new world teeming with fish, juggling mermaids and dark creatures in the abyss.
This magical and moving adventure into the depth of the ocean is ideal for families with children aged four and upwards.
Dive in to indulge yourself in a magical and moving adventure of waves, acrobatics and magnificent images!
Dare to Sea is part of PASS, a groundbreaking collaboration between eight French and English creation centres designed to support the development and touring of new contemporary circus, funded through the Interreg programme.
