AN all star cast line up as the larger than life hit musical Hairspray returns to Mayflower Theatre this week.
Benidorm star Tony Maudsley plays Edna Turnblad alongside TV actress and presenter Claire Sweeney, best known for her stint in Brookside, as Velma Von Tussle.
Olivier Award nominated actor and much-loved former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan appears as Wilbur Turnblad, while British singer and West End performer Brenda Edwards plays Motormouth Maybelle.
It’s Baltimore 1962, where Tracy Turnblad (Freya Sutton), a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV.
Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for equality, bagging local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way.
Irresistable feelgood show Hairspray runs from Monday to Saturday.
