THE Berry Youth Theatre returns to the stage this weekend for a glorious seasonal adaptation of the beloved novel The Secret Garden.

When sullen Mary Lennox finds herself transported from vibrant India to the gloomy, winding corridors of Misselthwaite Manor she is forbidden from exploring. But can the secret behind a haunting wailing noise and a garden as wild as her imagination help Mary to step out of the shadows and turn her to face the sun?

The production, which will see the use of handmade puppets, is the latest show from the Youth Theatre who put on a spectacular Road to Agincourt play, The Road to Glory, to a packed auditorium in October. Their adaptation of the wondrous The Secret Garden will see the young actors transform the stage into a stunning wood as they embody beloved characters from the iconic novel.

The show debuts tonight and tomorrow.
