THE Comedy Bar Big Gig, a sell out in 2007 and 2008, returns to The Nuffield this week starring funnyman of the moment Russell Kane and a host of other comics.

Back again to launch the fantastic 2009 comedy season at The Nuffield, the gig features four of the biggest and best acts on the comedy circuit on Saturday.

Star of BBC’s Live at the Apollo, Russell Kane has compered the big gigs for the past two years.

The two-time If.Comedy award nominee returns to headline the show. Russell has also performed on Paramount Comedy’s The World Stands Up and was a guest presenter on Big Brother’s Big Mouth.

Russell is about to embark on a nationwide 2009 tour, and will be appearing at The Nuffield in a full show on February 8 performing different material.

One of comedy’s cult comedians, Russell is joined by Simon Munnery.

Best known for BBC Series Attention Scum and for his stand-up alter ego Alan Parker: Urban Warrior.

One of the best alternative acts on the circuit, Simon Munnery has performed across the country, including sellout runs at The Edinburgh Festival.

He can be seen this year with his Annual General Meeting show at The Soho Theatre. Simon has appeared on BBC3’s 28 Acts in 28 Minutes and The Comic Side of Seven Days as well as on Dave Gorman’s Radio 4 show Genius.

Also on the bill is Rob Deering, as seen on Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive, Big Brother’s Big Mouth and Edinburgh and Beyond.

Much in demand as one of the finest musical comedians on the circuit, Rob Deering hosted 99 Things To Do Before You Die on Channel 5, has regularly performed at The Edinburgh Festival and won the prestigious Amused Moose competition.

Your MC will be Chortle Comedy Awards 2008 best compere Stephen Grant.
