TWO hit children’s shows are set to delight youngsters at The Mayflower in Southampton this season.
Transferring from TV, the pre-school favourite animations LazyTown and SpongeBob SquarePants come to the city in the summer.
One of the most successful children’s shows of 2008, LazyTown Live is returning with a new show between August 26 and 30.
The Pirate Adventure has swashbuckling fun for all the family and guarantees to make everyone super-heroes.
There will be star-jumps, power-moves, laugh out-loud fun, sing-along songs and dancing in the aisles.
Young and old alike will be transported onto the high seas through a high-energy story full of parrots, pieces of eight and buried treasure.
Joining in the fun will be favourite LazyTown friends: Stephanie and Sportacus – and of course Robbie Rotten who, given half the chance, would have Sportacus walking the plank so laziness could rule in LazyTown.
The loveable sea sponge SpongeBob SquarePants, his best starfish Buddy and all their fun friends from Bikini Bottom arrive in a live action show, The Sponge Who Could Fly!
The new adventure-packed musical, based on the TV episode The Lost Episode /The Sponge Could Fly, will be staged from May 6 to 9.
Featuring a magical set that transports the audience to SpongeBob’s underwater world, the show is a story of courage and coming of age, which tells the tale of SpongeBob’s desire to “fly” with the jellyfish of Jellyfish Fields and his persistence in achieving his dream. Will SpongeBob take flight, or will his dream come crashing down on the ocean floor?
Tickets for both shows are available from 023 8071 1811 or visit mayflower.org.uk.
