THIS lesser produced version of Cinderella, centred on a 1960's Halloween theme, provided Becky Coultas (director) with a fun vehicle to which the cast responded in like form.
A pig (Leighton Fort) and Cilla Black (Angela Sutherland) are just two of the unexpected characters in this production that includes a main witch (Claire Ferguson) whose laugh is evil.
Tradition is not forgotten as Buttons (David Ferguson) encourages audience participation and the ugly sisters (Shane Dennett, Peter Allen) are hilarious. Cinderella (Helen Hodrien) and a football playing Prince Charming (Kerry Allen) complement each other perfectly. Dandini (Amy Tattersall) excelled in her role.
Despite a shaky start on opening night, the second half was excellent and everyone, cast and audience alike, enjoyed the experience.
David Sutherland enhanced his reputation for set design and Julia Allen gave precise musical direction.
