TWO foot-stomping Southampton dance stars return to the south coast next week when they appear in Michael Flatley’s Lord Of The Dance at Poole Lighthouse from Tuesay to Thursday.
Selina Breed and Laura Jones are part of the troupe for the show, which has been seen by more than 7 million people in 50 different countries and includes more than 150,000 taps per performance.
Laura has been with the show for seven years and dances the role of Saoirse, the good girl in the story.
She first got the dancing bug at the age of four when she went to watch her cousin at Eastleigh Irish Club and got so carried away she started dancing.
Laura, who grew up in Shirley, after her Irish grandparents moved to Freemantle, said: “I just got the bug! I love it. I love the Irish music, I love the Irish culture, but most of all I love Irish dancing.
“The troupe is like one big family.” Selina has been with the troupe even longer – nine years – after touring the world with another Flatley show Feet Of Flames. She grew up in Bitterne and now has a house in St Denys.
Selina added: “A lot of friends are coming to see me in Poole, some who haven’t had the opportunity before, so I’m really looking forward to it.”
