CORPUS Christi Amateur Dramatic Society (CCADS) are proud to present the area premiere of Rent the ‘seasons of love’ musical.
Accompanied by a fantastic live onstage rock band lead by Dafydd Hughes, head of popular music at Chichester College, this is a brand new full scale production of an inspirational piece of theatre.
CCADS artistic director John-Paul McCrohon heads a cast of 18 at Portsmouth’s New Theatre Royal from Wednesday until Saturday June 6.
In recognition of the powerful messages that the show contains about overcoming hardship and, in particular, living with the HIV virus, CCADS are collecting for The Terence Higgins Trust, Hampshire’s AIDS charity.
When Rent opened in 1996 on Broadway it became a cultural phenomenon – a musical that brought a new generation to the theatre, uniting people in its seize the moment philosophy. It acquired an even greater poignancy as its creator, Jonathan Larson, died the night before his creation opened in triumph.
Tickets: 023 9264 9000.
