DENIS Norden, one of television’s most enduring personalities, will host an ‘audience with’ evening at The Point, Eastleigh on Tuesday.
Even without his clipboard, Denis Norden is instantly recognisable from the hit out-take television shows It’ll Be Alright on the Night and Denis Norden’s Laughter File, but many will remember that his career stretches back more than half a century to the golden age of radio and the pioneering years of television comedy.
As one half of the remarkable comedy writing partnership with the late Frank Muir, he created and wrote the long-running Take It From Here for the Wireless – as he still prefers to call it. This was followed by one of the first ever TV sitcoms, Whack-O!, starring Jimmy Edwards as a whisky-swigging, cane-wielding headmaster.
For this special evening, Denis Norden will share memories from his fascinating career and will be joined in conversation by writer, journalist and broadcaster Samantha Norman.
In the second part of the evening he will invite questions from the audience.
Tickets are £13-£15 and can be booked by calling 023 8065 2333 or visiting thepointeastleigh.co.uk.
