A BRAND new revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic musical Oklahoma is coming to Bournemouth in March and Southampton in August.
Set on America’s Western Frontier, against a background of conflict between farmers and cattlemen, Oklahoma tells the tale of farm girl Laurey and the two rivals for her affections, happy go-lucky cowboy Curly and the sinister farm hand Jud.
Famously, the show opens with Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’ and contains a rousing score full of wonderful songs.
The show stars one of Britain’s most popular leading ladies Marti Webb, who has appeared in Cats and Evita as Aunt Eller.Oklahoma is at the Pavilion Theatre from March 20 to 27 and at The Mayflower from August 17 to 21. Tickets: 0844 576 3000 (Bournemouth) or 023 8071 1803 (Southampton).
