The Eastleigh Mela returns on July 11 and promises to be even brighter, bigger and bolder.
Part of the Eastleigh Music Festival, and run by The Point and Eastleigh Borough Council in conjunction with Eastleigh Asian Welfare and Cultural Association, this free all-day event is a spectacular celebration of multiculturalism.
This hugely popular event, which attracted more than 10,000 people last year, will take place at Leigh Road Recreation Ground from 11am.
The park will be brought to life with live music, dance, workshops, and an array of stalls offering crafts and cuisines from around the globe.
Headlining the event are festival favourites The Baghdaddies whose sound is influenced by everything from the Roma wedding brass band and gypsy music of Eastern Europe, through reggae, ska, calypso, jazz and punk rock.
With their eclectic fusion of rhythms and melodies plucked from around the world, The Baghdaddies are sure to end the Mela – and the festival – with a funky, dance-groove bang!
