FOR 40 years it has been beamed into our living rooms but now for the first time you can be a part of the national institution that is A Question of Sport.
To celebrate it’s anniversary the iconic show has gone on tour and fans spanning the generations have snapped up tickets.
The audience was split into two teams, Phil Tufnell’s side and the mighty Matt Dawson’s – which I was on.
We became the fourth member of the team, whooping and cheering when our side got a point and booing furiously when the other team did.
Special guests were ex-Saint Graeme Le Saux, cricketer Alec Stewart, swimmer Karen Pickering and Iwan Thomas.
Holding it all together was Sue Barker, who has been hosting the show for 13 years.
The show followed its much-loved format but had a few changes to get the audience involved.
Each captain had two Jokers to play, allowing them to ask their side of the audience.
There was also the chance for fans to quiz the team captains on anything from sport to Strictly Come Dancing, throwing up some funny and embarrassing anecdotes.
From the traditional picture board start to the buzzer round ending, via a hilarious game of sporting charades, it was non-stop laughter.
