CHARLES DICKENS’ festive classic A Christmas Carol comes to The Nuffield next week with a star-studded cast.
Adapted and directed by Patrick Sandford, Mark Hadfield will be playing the role of Scrooge.
He has worked extensively with The Peter Hall Company, The National theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing alongside Patrick Stewart and David Tennant in Gregory Doran’s stage production and film of Hamlet in 2008.
He told the Daily Echo: “I am really looking forward to playing Scrooge in A Christmas Carol at The Nuffield. It is one of my favourite books and possibly the most uplifting Christmas story ever written!”
Mark joins a talented cast including Ben Nathan, who appeared in the recent Nuffield Production of Woody Allen’s Writer’s Block, Anne-Marie Piazza, who played the part of Alice in last spring’s Alice in Wonderland, and Nuffield favourite Nicola Blackman, who starred as a riotous weasel in last year’s Christmas Show, The Wind in the Willows.
A Christmas Carol is at The Nuffield Theatre from November 25 until January 8.
Tickets start at £8.50 and are on-sale now. Box office: 023 8067 1771 or visit nuffieldtheatre.co.uk
