Just heard the news about Alan, what a shock! he was my bakery lecturer as well as my husbands , then when I returned to college as a member of staff he was a work colleague until he retired. We had some great times and laughed a lot and had the same sense of humour. Our thoughts are with you Sarah at this sad time. love Julie and Pete Hancock ****

Alan, Mr Fisk, I was a student of Bakery and Confectionery in his first year of teaching at Southampton Technical College.
He was really irritated and "he told me" when he gave me 10 out of 10 for my trio colour biscuits. He was a brilliant teacher although in those days I was very timid. I later went to work as a technician in the bakery department. I then realised after a time that there was a lot of stagecraft in the classroom from his amateur dramatics. He called me to speak to me and I thought oh no what have I done wrong!! He said Sonja it's about time you called me Alan ..... I also used to go to his performances. He was such a good chap and funny.
He taught me a lot and I have gratitude for that, he will never be forgotten.
My sincere condolences to Sarah and the family warmest regards Sonja Gundry ( Bisson )
