Police have released an audio recording of the moment a gunman told a man he was taking his wife.
The recording, which you can listen to below, was captured when the robber struck on Friday morning, as he took a woman hostage after threatening her and her husband at gun point at their home in Rookes Lane, Lymington.
Although the recording is not particularly clear, police are hoping someone will recognise the gunman's voice.
It is believed he is saying: "I'm going to leave you here, I'm going to take your wife (unintelligible).
"You can ring the police in two minutes, we'll be round the corner."
Meanwhile, officers on the case have also released more details about the investigation, which they hope will help pinpoint who the robber is.
- Anyone who feels they know who it is should phone 101 or the Crimestoppers charity line anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting Operation Prenton.
