DETECTIVES have released a picture of a potential witness to a gunpoint robbery that officers believe could have been carried out by one of Hampshire’s most wanted criminals.
Hampshire officers leading the hunt for the New Forest gunman have been liaising with their Dorset colleagues over the raid at the Highcliffe Post Office as to the possibility that the suspect is the same man.
They have now released a CCTV image of a witness who they think could help with their enquiries.
Major crime officers have made several arrests in their bid to find the gunman, who is thought to have carried out two gun-point robberies last month against a commuter at Brockenhurst railway station and a couple at their home in Lymington.
No one has yet been charged, but last week a £5,000 reward was put up by the charity Crimestoppers for information leading to a significant arrest.
Anyone with information should phone 101, ask for Dorset police and quote incident number 18:102.
