FIRE services were called out to rescue a pony that appeared to be stuck in a stream.
Residents raised the alarm when they saw the animal in the stream in a field off Aldermoor Road, Coxford, - the fire service was called out at 2pm on Saturday .
The female brown and white Shetland pony appeared to be standing in around a foot of water.
Coxford Cllr Don Thomas, who called the emergency services, said he was concerned because he has seen the stream flood before.
Anton Phillips, animal rescue specialist with Hampshire and Rescue Service, based at Eastleigh, said the horse was shaking from the cold and that he thought it had been unable to get up the banks of the stream, so guided it to the lowest part of the bank where it was able to clamber out.
