A HAMPSHIRE technology specialist is on the road to success after being signed up to work alongside Team GB’s Olympic cycling heroes.

TSG, which has its regional base at Chilworth Point in Southampton, has won a major contract to provide IT support to British Cycling, the organisation that looks after Hamble’s Olympic track cycling queen Dani King and Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medallist Sir Bradley Wiggins.

The firm will use its SystemCare support service to help the sporting body manage its database of more than 50,000 members as it aims to build on the success of the London 2012 Olympic Games and get even more people on their bikes.

Chief executive of TSG David Stonehouse said he was “delighted” with the deal, adding: “British Cycling are renowned for making the tough selection decisions that yield exceptional results.

“We’re proud to be part of the team and are confident that while we take care of their IT systems they can focus on delivering the programme that will build on the hugely impressive achievements this year.”

British Cycling’s IT manager Alan Mann said: “Data is critical to British Cycling for many reasons.

"Our coaches and athletes harvest huge amounts of performance data both in training and competition to inform their strategies and schedules often on a minuteby- minute basis.

“Many members of the team are constantly on the move so connectivity and availability is essential.”

It is the second sporting partnership for TSG after it was hired by rugby union club Northampton Saints in a deal that will see them work with the club until 2016.
