FIREFIGHTERS rescued an 11-year-old girl after she became stranded on a shingle bank.
A 999 call, believed to have been made by the girl’s mother, said that the girl was stranded on the shingle bank, off Heritage Way, Gosport, and that the tide was coming in fast.
Firefighters reached the girl and used a ladder to pass her over the mud back to safety.
She was checked over by ambulance staff and, though cold, was unhurt in the incident at around 3.15pm on Sunday.
