A TRANSPORT minister has been urged to help find £8 million to fund an extension to a Hampshire bus link.
Parliamentary under secretary of state for transport, Norman Baker, was visiting the new Bus Rapid Transit link between Fareham and Gosport when he was issued with the plea.
Bosses at Hampshire County Council asked him to support moves to extend the link towards the Daedalus airfield, which is set for a multi-million pound business park overhaul in the coming years.
The authority's environment and transport supremo Mel Kendal used the visit to make his case for £8million in government funding for the project.
He was joined in his calls by Marc Reddy from bus operator First Bus and Giles Fearnley from UK Bus.
