AN evening of glitz and glamour put on by the Southern Property Association with the Daily Echo raised more than £8,000 for Hampshire Autistic Society.
More than 150 people attended the dinner, held at the De Vere Grand Hotel, which with an auction and a raffle raised £8,663.
Collecting the cheque on behalf of Hampshire Autistic Society was Kerry James, the society’s senior fundraiser.
She said: “We were delighted to be the nominated charity to benefit from the monies raised from the SPA and Daily Echo gala dinner. It was a superb evening, and great opportunity for the society to raise awareness of autism locally.
“The money raised will make such a difference to the people we support.
“We would like to say a sincere thank you to all the committee and everyone involved in making it such a huge success, raising a tremendous amount.”
