Newbury Building Society has secured premises to open its fifth branch in Hampshire.
An independent building society owned by its members, Newbury now have a total of 11 branches.
The organisation’s development director, Geoff Knappett, said: “The success of our Basingstoke Branch has shown that there is a place for a traditional mutual building society offering simple savings and mortgages in today’s complex financial services market place.
“Winchester is a town that fits our culture and we are sure that local people will enjoy the service we offer.”
The branch, which is opposite Debenhams, is being renovated ready for an April opening. It replaces Urban nature which closed in autumn 2011.
