Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Hampshire.
The incident occurred at 11.35am on North Street, Portsmouth, on Saturday, as the victim walked towards Church Road.
The victim, a 14-year-old girl, was walking home from Commercial Road after buying a new red Blackberry Curve mobile phone.
She had the phone out of the box when she was approached by a man who grabbed her arm in order to steal the phone.
The suspect is described as:
• Dark skinned man
• 18 to 20-years-old
• Medium build
• 5ft 6 to 5ft 9 tall
• Stubble on his chin
• Wearing a dark blue hooded top which was zipped all the way up, dark coloured trousers which were tight fitting around the legs.
Detective Constable Les Leithes from Portsmouth Central police station said: “This incident occurred on a Saturday morning when many people would have been out and about. Were you in the area at the time and did you see anyone matching the description of the offender?”
