HAMPSHIRE motorists heading home tonight have been warned that they face delays after a burst watermain closed one lane of major city route.
One lane on Northam Bridge heading towards the city centre has been closed after a waterpipe burst.
Southern Water are on their way to the bridge to fix the leak as soon as possible.
It is believed the freezing conditions are the reason for the burst pipe.
A Southern Water spokesman said: “We are currently fixing a burst water main in Northam Road Southampton.
“Part of the incoming dual carriageway is closed while the repair is under way but traffic is still flowing.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
