THE 39-year-old singer postponed the tour in early December after the health of his brother Andrew deteriorated.
And Peter and his family were at Andrew’s side when he died peacefully before Christmas.
A spokesman said: “Peter is devastated. He was very, very, very close to his brother. This is the first family member Peter has experienced losing.”
Despite his grieving, the former Mr Katie Price put on a brave face while ski-ing in the French Alps in the New Year.
The Australian can comfortably add the winter sport to his multitude of talents.
As well as sell-out concerts, various reality TV shows, he has also now designed his own clothing range.
“It is bizarre,” he said. “I look at my life and think how lucky I am that I get to do all these different things.
“With the clothing, the shirts are handmade in Italy, and it’s proper quality stuff. I’m glad I’m entering into the world of fashion and I think you have to put up with people being quite negative about it until they actually get the stuff.
You can’t fool people with quality.
“We’re looking at going into the major shops. I really feel welcomed into the fashion world by retail. It’s early days but I think we’re on a winner here.”
So what’s on his to-do list for 2013?
“I’d like to do Strictly Come Dancing, but it takes up too long a time. Work-wise, I’m very content.
I’ve got my reality show, I’m doing another format show – last time we did Bad Boyfriend Club – so this year we’re going to come up with something different, so I’m a very lucky guy. Basically ITV has been great with me; how lucky am I?!”
He also celebrates the big 4-0 this year, and would have loved to have celebrated with all his brothers in Las Vegas.
Now he’s in a relationship with 23-year-old medical student Emily MacDonagh. Last November he spoke out about his new love saying: “This is the happiest I have been in years.”
Andre’s children are his number one priority.
How does he manage to balance his private life alongside everything else?
“I have a good management team that helps me put everything in order. Junior’s always asking, ‘Daddy, what time do I come on stage?!’ Despite his successful studio albums and TV career, he has made no secret of his love of touring.
“Nothing can ever come close to me being on stage; the person I become, how happy I become; how focused I become.
“It’s all to do with stage, more so than recording an album. ”
Peter will be performing with his band on Tuesday night, with hits such as Behind Closed Doors and Mysterious Girl. Though the latter is a song he performs with a mixture of pride and embarrassment.
“I do have some cringy moments but because it’s a song that’s a hit every summer, I’m fine with it. The one I just will not do is Insania – I can’t cope with that! And the thing is, that song scarred me from bringing anything credible out.
“If people listened without prejudice, they’d see that I love writing songs, and I’ve been doing it since I was 13.”
For his Up Close and Personal tour, this passion will be combined with a number of other factors that have made him promise this will be his best tour yet.
“We bring in great producers, we’re using illusions – it’s an amazing show.
“I can’t tell you how hard they’ve worked me on this one!
“I have a few surprises in store, and it’s a chance for me to get up close and personal to the British public, which I adore so much.”
