Two men have been jailed for 13 years for taking part in a drug-fuelled shooting in Southampton.
Calvin Lawrence, 26, and Malachi Francis, 27, were handed the sentence this afternoon at Southampton Crown Court.
The self-confessed drug dealers, who are both from London, had been convicted of being behind a late-night shooting in the Townhill Park area of the city, when a man was blasted in the leg on the evening of February 19 last year.
The court had heard that Suraj Singh Bhakar was injured after visiting a flat in Vanguard Road.
He was left needing surgery for four leg wounds.
Lawrence and Francis both denied being involved in the shooting but were found guilty last year of wounding with intent and possessing a handgun with intent to cause fear of violence The prosecution said the shooting had been premeditated, designed not to kill but cause serious harm.
Lawrence and Francis will both serve 13 years, with a further 5 years on licence for wounding with intent and 9 years concurrently for possessing a firearm.
