A TOTTON man is back in jail after hounding his mother again.
Despite a court order banning him from contacting her, heroin addict Craig Steadman bombarded her with phone calls within days of being released from his latest stretch for harassing her.
Prosecutor Louisa Bagley said the 23-year-old had rung her up to 20 times over a two to three week period, causing her distress and making her feel her job was in danger.
Recorder Nigel Lickley QC heard Steadman, of High Street, Totton, had once been convicted for assaulting his mother and had continually harassed either her or his grandmother for money in desperation to buy drugs.
David Storey, defending Steadman, said: “He was on methadone but he stopped using it, relapsed and contacted his mother.” Jailing him for ten months for breaching a restraining order, the judge said: “Your mother says she has got to the point where she cannot cope.”
