AN injured sailor had to be rescued from the English Channel last night after an accident aboard his warship.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said they received an emergency call at about 9.15pm from the German frigate requesting help.
One of its crew had dislocated both shoulders.
A helicopter was then scrambled from Lee-On-Solent to the vessel which lay off Portland in Dorset.
The man was winched aboard before being airlifted to Southampton General Hospital where he is now being treated.
