A BURGLAR has stolen figurines of sentimental value belonging to a retired serviceman.
Two Singapore-style Chinese figurines were taken when someone got into the man's ground floor flat, in The Redan, Alverstoke, Gosport, through an insecure window.
Both figures are gun metal, covered in gold leaf.
The first figure marks the Year of the Rat, depicting a rat on its back legs with gold coins around its feet.
The second depicts a Chinese god, standing upright with a square hat and a gold, red and black gown.
Police are appealing for information to the incident, which happened between 10am and 5pm, last Thursday .
They want to hear from anyone who saw one or more people acting suspiciously near Cessac House or Archer House on the day of the burglary or from anyone who has been offered the figures for sale or who has found them discarded.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Staff Investigator Jane Dye at Gosport on 101.
