COMMUTERS will tomorrow be travelling with ease after works to widen a busy city road were suspended.

Work has been going on to widen the carriageway of the slip road on the outbound carriageway of Millbrook Road West as part of the Costco development.

However, this work has been postponed to a later date due to an engineering problem, and consequently the carriageway currently coned off will reopen from 6am Friday morning, according to Southampton City Council.

Then on Monday, working will begin on later phases of the work, whilst plans are drawn up on how best to deal with the engineering problem that led to the current work being delayed.
