A SOUTHAMPTON man has been charged with assault after a clubber was left blind in one eye.
Thomas Goff, 29, appeared before the city’s magistrates court charged with grievous bodily harm.
It comes after dad Dean De Freitas told how he was the victim of an assault at a Southampton nightclub.
The 47-year-old dad-of-six lost the sight in his left eye during a 30-person brawl in the Cellar bar.
As reported by the Daily Echo, Dean, a warehouse manager at Southampton docks, had to undergo surgery at the specialist eye unit at Southampton General Hospital.
He had been out with workmates before meeting up with his two sons Dean, 21, and Joe, 19, in the early hours of Saturday, December 15.
Goff, from Northam Road, Southampton, was committed to Southampton Crown Court where he will appear on February 18.
