BUDDING French horn musicians are being given the chance to take part in free workshops in Hampshire with an expert coach.
Hampshire County Council's Music Service is holding a French horn day on Sunday at Thornden School in Chandler's Ford.
There will be workshops for all young players, up to age 18, catering for the needs of beginners through to advanced musicians and a chance to get some expert coaching from Michael Thompson, one of Britain's foremost French horn soloists and a professor at the Royal Academy of Music.
Tom Seligman, conductor of Hampshire County Youth Orchestra, who will be hosting the open day in association with the British Horn Society, said: "This is a great opportunity to come along, to meet and work with other horn players and for those thinking of taking up the instrument to see and hear what it's all about."
The event is free and takes place from 11am to 4pm.
