SIX of the nation's favourite children's authors will be at Winchester Guildhall on Saturday November 25.

They will be star attractions at the 11th Wessex Children's Book Fair.

Around 3,000 people are expected to attend the county council-organised event to meet a star line-up of writers comprising Children's Laureate Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo, Nick Butterworth, Axel Scheffler, Anthony Browne, and Terry Pratchett.

The family event on Saturday is part of a packed week full of talks and events enabling young readers to talk to their literary heroes and hear about the inspiration behind the work.

This year, for the first time ever, the Gala Day has been expanded to a Gala Weekend supported by the family Sunday Fun Day at Winchester Guildhall from 10am to 2pm.

Admission to the Gala Weekend is free but there is a small charge for tickets to the author talks - £3 for adults and £2 for children.
