The weather is getting warmer and thoughts turn to sailing off into the blue.
Now the Daily Echo has teamed up with British discovery-led cruise line, Swan Hellenic (swanhellenic.com), to offer readers the chance to win a lunch on board the fabulous, mv Minerva, pictured, in her home port here in Hampshire.
Twenty-five lucky winners and their chosen guest will be able to enjoy a welcome drink followed by a guided tour of the vessel and its recently enhanced facilities including the Orpheus Lounge which provides panoramic views from the front of the ship and the outdoor promenade deck.
A three-course lunch will also be served on board before guests disembark in the afternoon of June 5 in Portsmouth.
Each mv Minerva sailing is escorted by eminent guest speakers who bring each destination to life covering topics as diverse as the legacy of Tsarist and Soviet rule to the archaeology and culture of Greek Islands.
Each guest speaker is an expert in their field with many considered to be the world’s foremost authority on their subject.
The well-loved ship will be calling at its home port of Portsmouth, where the lunch takes place, on the morning of Wednesday, June 5 before departing for its next voyage to Oslo and the Fjords. Swan Hellenic offers a total of seven no-fly cruises during summer 2013 which all depart and return to Portsmouth, sailing to a variety of destinations including the Baltic, British Isles, the Arctic, Iceland and the French Coast.
