PEOPLE in Hampshire are being encouraged to make the most of the county's beautiful countryside this winter and explore the scenic, seasonal landscape.
Hampshire County Council has produced a new booklet which offers top tips on walking, cycling and special events taking place in the great outdoors during the winter.
The booklet, which includes more than 600 walks and three cycle rides, aims to encourage people to put on their walking boots and take a stroll in Hamp-shire's winter wonderland.
For those who prefer the town to the countryside, it also offers a list of town and city walks, from weekly health walks to history-themed walks.
Councillor Margaret Snaith, the county council's executive member for recreation and heritage, said: "Many people take advantage of the county's beautiful countryside in the summer but don't think to enjoy it in the winter, but winter is just as good a time as any."
The booklet is available from countryside parks, libraries, Hampshire County Council Information Centre and tourist information centres.
