LOVE was in the air at Copythorne Amateur Theatrical Society's dress rehearsal of Pinafore Pirates.
It's not that the show is romantic but that two of the cast members, John and Sandra Dovey were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.
The couple has been involved with the society since it began 11 years ago and before that with the previous theatrical society at Copythorne.
Their love of performing runs in the family: both daughters have been involved on stage as well.
John is busy both in the limelight and behind the scenes.
He not only takes part on stage, but also creates many of the society's props such as the pirate ship set.
Sandra is in charge of the society's box office and ticket sales.
She will be familiar to anyone who has been to see any of the society's shows with her cheery face at the door on show nights.
Mike Bailey, chairman of the society said that the fact that the couple chose to spend their 40th wedding anniversary at the rehearsal showed how committed they are to Copythorne Amateur Theatrical Society.
Pinafore Pirates is being performed at Copythorne Parish Hall tonight, tomorrow and next Friday and Saturday. The performances take place at 7.30pm on Fridays and 6.30pm on Saturdays.
Tickets: £5. Box office: 023 8083 6228.
