HE is the man who put the soul into Craig David, helped propel him to superstardom, and produced his groundbreaking debut hit Rewind.

His name is Neil Kerr and he is looking for musical talent across the south, after setting up a brand new studio in Southampton.

Neil was one of the two people behind Off The Wharf Productions, the company that discovered Craig David.

They went on to produce his seven million-selling debut album Born To Do It and, as co-director, Kerr was responsible for many of the distinctive sounds on the album.

His new studio project, Cherrywood Studios, is set to become the most advanced recording facility for anybody making music in the south - whether it's a simple demo CD or a complete album.

The studio, in central Southampton, is aimed at the "download generation" of musicians.

Kerr explains: "Digital recording technology is cheaper and more accessible than ever before, and thousands of musicians across the south - be they solo artists, bands, DJs or collaborations - are creating exciting new music in bedrooms and garages.

"Cherrywood Studios offers a solution for taking these recordings to the next level, with an excellent range of digital and acoustic facilities."

Neil has been in the music industry for 12 years, working with the likes of Liberty X, as well as co-writing and producing music which recently featured in the teen soap Hollyoaks.

Working alongside Kerr at Cherrywood Studios is Carl McIntosh, who has worked with Mel C, Louise, Gareth Gates and ex-Sugababe Siobhan Donaghy.

As well as Kerr and McIntosh, a team of writers and musicians are also available to help find each artist the right sound for them.
