STAFF and pupils at Marchwood Infant School have raised almost £700 for Epilepsy Action.
Head teacher Maureen Green decided to support the charity after her neighbour's 22-year-old daughter died from Sudden Unexpected Death From Epilepsy.
Mrs Green said: "Her father does lot of fundraising for Epilepsy Action so I chose it as our school charity for the year. We'd like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and children who have helped us raise such a fantastic amount of money.
"Not only are we helping a cause that we all strongly support but it's a good opportunity for the children to feel they are making a difference to others while learning about epilepsy."
The school raised the money through various events that were held over the course of the year, including a non-uniform day.
Pupils presented the cheque to Helen King, Epilepsy Action's regional services manager for the south-west.
The money will help to fund vital advice and information services provided by the charity, which assists 500,000 people every year.
