Detectives questioned people living in neighbouring flats as well as nearby residents in the hope of discovering how the man, who is in his 60s died.
This morning the road remained cordoned off with police only allowing fellow officers and residents to go in an out the blue and white tape.
The victim is yet to be identified and a post-mortem examination was being carried out today in the hope of discovering how he died.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything or anyone acting suspiciously in the area from about 12pm on Wednesday till 2pm yesterday.
Sgt Toby Elcock, who is leading the investigation, apologised for the inconvenience the cordons are causing and is appealing for anyone with any information to contact police.
