A SOUTHAMPTON engineering apprentice provider celebrated getting a top accreditation.

Millbrook-based Southampton Engineering Training Association (SETA) is now the first apprenticeship provider in the UK to get accredited by the Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC).

It means that SETA apprentices can apply for letters after their name when they complete their training.

To achieve the accreditation, SETA was visited by the Institute, who spent a day interviewing apprentices and reviewing its Millbrook training centre.

Seta chief executive Richard Heihington, said: “We’re very proud to get this accolade.

"The InstMC has accredited employers’ graduate schemes in the past but we’re the first apprentice provider to be recognised for our training programme."
